Ruth works in multisector collaborations with diverse partners to promote health equity.

Ruth Thomas-Squance, PhD, MPH, is the co-executive director of the Build Healthy Places Network, a national center positioning cross-sector partnerships from community development, public health, and health care sectors to lead and leverage community-centered investments across the country to address the drivers of health and advance racial equity.

A passionate public health change agent, Dr. Thomas-Squance has over 15 years of experience working in multisector collaborations with diverse partners to promote health equity. She currently serves on the U.S. Green Building Council’s board of directors and the American Public Health Association’s Alliance for Disease Prevention and Response. She earned her doctorate from Imperial College London and her master’s degree in public health from the University of California, Berkeley. She lives in San Francisco.
