Joel Yates

Joel (he/him) is a community artist based in San Francisco. His words have been molded by active truths pressed through history. He has worked creatively toward alignment and has encouraged the conduction of life with myriad voices in the Skywatcher ensemble since 2019. His practice began on stage with acting and dance and he has never moved far from words, whether of oratory, poetry, or story. As a contributing fixture, he shares his experience and art through continuous work in the Tenderloin neighborhood while holding on to the foundational value of relationship to effect change.
