In a new opinion piece published in U.S. News and World Report, Philip Alberti, PhD, founding director of the AAMC Center for Health Justice, asserts that medical care can help communities attain health equity, noting that clinicians and health care providers must take meaningful action on multiple fronts to boost overall well-being “A medical care organization that prioritizes internal equity provides a model that helps ensure all patient populations it serves will be treated equitably and with respect.”
