Sharice Davids, JD

Sharice Davids, JD
Congresswoman, U.S. House of Representatives, Kansas Third District

Rep. Davis was raised by a single mother who served in the Army for 20 years. After graduating from Leavenworth High School, Rep. Davids worked her way through Johnson County Community College and the University of Missouri-Kansas City before earning a law degree from Cornell Law School. It is that foundation that enabled a successful career focused on economic and community development, which included time as a White House Fellow in the Department of Transportation under President Barack Obama.

Rep. Davids has focused her career on ensuring everyone has the opportunity to thrive. In Congress, Rep. Davids is putting Kansans first, working to limit the influence of special interests and fighting to make health care more affordable and accessible to everyone. She is a leader on transportation and infrastructure policy, where she focuses on making smart, sustainable investments that set the foundation for economic growth in years to come.

When she was sworn in to the 116th Congress, Rep. Davids became one of the first two Native American women to serve in Congress. She is vice chair of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and sits on the House Committee on Small Business, where she chairs the Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access.
